Grunge and Text

Straw: 9-27-09 6:30 p.m. / f/8, 1/320, ISO 800

Herd: 9-27-09 6:21p.m. / f/10, 1/800, ISO 800

The Herd was grazing around the Tetons. I got right up to the fence and took this shot. I cropped it to make it look like a panorama and I threw on some fade text and gave it a title. I then added the straw and flipped the duplicate to give it a circling around the herd.

Wood: 9-27-09 4:55p.m. / f/20, 1/800, ISO 800

bison: 9-28-09 3:29p.m. / f/20, 1/460, ISO 800

When I took the shot of the bison and looked at how over exposed the shot was I was for sure this was a wasted shot but as I took it into photoshop I brought the exposure far down and it came out pretty good. Thank you RAW file. The wood was down on Jenny lake in Teton National park. I had an idea that it was look cool with an overlay blend on the bison so I did. Then I gave it a fadeout boarder and threw on some text.

LandScape and Still life

Shine: 9-27-09 11:09a.m. / f/18, 1/800, ISO 800

Stick: 9-27-09 11:21 a.m. / f/16, 1/640, ISO 800

Teton: 9-27-09 6:56p.m. / f/18, 1/500 -2 ISO 800

Shine: I wasn't quite sure what to do for a still life but then as I was looking through my pictures I took this weekend in Yellowstone I saw this one and I remember the sign saying the color of these very slow moving streams come from millions of different organisms living there. That is why this is a still life.

Stick: Just like most shots taken during the middle of the day, the color gets washed out in the picture. Basically the color of the steamy part was a lot more rich in color. The stick caught my eye and I really wanted to get a cool shot.

Teton: We were driving through Teton National Park Sunday night on our way back to Rexburg from Yellowstone. The sun was going behind the mountains and I had to get a shot. there was a fire off to the right so there was a lot of haze, unfortunately. I pumped up the vibration and sats on this picture. I was trying to get a silhouette shot as the rays of light came across the top of the mountain.

Piece of Cake!

This is a picture of my Baby's first birthday cake. It was the letters Mo Mo on it which are Japanese characters. That's was we call our daughter. I wanted to get fancy and try to make a reflection on the ground after I cut it out but after about an hour of playing around with it I realized that you have to have a straight shot of the object in order to do that other wise the reflection will not look natural. If you go to Youtube there are some really easy to follow tutorials on making reflections.

What is it about the Green ones?

Rust a La Teal
: Sep. 17, 2009, 12:21 p.m. Parking lot right outside of the stadium
16 f/stop, 1/400, ISO 800

I was looking for just come cool texture. I walked by this rusty car and I found this by the door. At the time I was thinking about Halloween and the shadow cast looked like scary eyes to me. how cool.

Leaf Abstract: March 11, 2009, 4:43 p.m. BYU-I green house
5.6 f/stop, 1/50, ISO 800

This was part an a photography assignment last winter semester. I love this shop and have it up in my bathroom on a 18 by 22 print. It looks sweeter big. To me it looking like a bird or a bat spreading it's wings.

Baby Fingers: Sep. 16, 2009, 3:54 p.m. Sleeping on the Bed
5 f/stop, 1/50, ISO400

I was trying to think green and I walked in on my baby girl sleeping on my bed. I noticed that my bed spread was green but I wanted to do something a little more interesting then just a straight on shop of her sleeping. This picture is obviously influenced by the internet and artsy shot of people's kids. My wife loved it so now it's the cover shop for her scrap booking.
