Ashley Shaum: 3/7/09 5:09pm, f/9, 1/100 ISO 200 Stacy Toone: 3/7/09 3:48pm f/6.3, 1/60 ISO 200
These were both taken last march for another portrait assignment. I followed the video tutorial for Stacy's picture. I think that looks really cool. I was playing around with some of the actions and I think this was a simple sepia action but then I calmed the sepia down. brought back the yellow coat to make it really jump and then blurred the whole picture. I masked out her face and neck so there is no blur there.
Historian in Library: 3/7/09 10:38am f/6.3, 1/60 ISO 800 Ashley Shaum (Old Craigos):3/7/09 5:05pm, f/10, 1/250 ISO 200 High school guy (Skate park):10/24/09 4:38pm f/8, 1/125 ISO 200 Nature park boy: 10.24/09 4:28pm f/8, 1/125 ISO 200 Scripture Study (Frisby Golf):10/24/09 4:41pm f/7.1, 1/80 ISO 200 These are my portraits I took with some slight photoshop like cropping and levels and saturation adjustment. I think I really like to take pictures of people in natural moments but it's hard to get there permission to do so and also still keep the authentic feel around them. I really tried to keep them relaxed as I talked to them. It's some hard stuff. Ashley and the Library guy modeled for me last march for another class. That was awesome.
Baby face: 10/19 1:21am, f/5, 57sec. ISO 200 Purplish: 10/18 8:12 pm, f/5.6, 8 sec. ISO 200 Reds: 10/18 8:11pm, f/5.6, 15 sec. ISO 200
This week my creative juices were not flowin' as usual. But I think for the lack of it I still produced something interesting too look at. The Pumpkin shots were really fun because all the light you see was painted on with my IPOD touch. I used blue, green and red light to paint in a pitch black room. I had some other shots that were just with white light but none of them came out that great. I also threw on some boarders. I felt that the Pumpkin Face would be great if there was just a subtle vignette around with a tanish orangish boarder. As for Baby face, I did a brush on effect that I really think came out great. My night shots were of a dying fire. As I exposed I moved the camera around to get cool effects. The Purplish shot was a total fluke. I dont' know how I got that color but all that is real color. I increased the saturation a little but I don't really know what it is. These were fun shots to take with the lack of genuine inspiration.
In The Jail: (HDR) 5:11pm; f/25, 4", ISO 800 Table: (In a house) 5:51pm; f/5, 1/50, ISO 800 Panorama of the Town: (from the hill) 4:57pm; f/10, 1/250, ISO 800 Panorama in the Town: (from the street) 12:04pm; f/20, 1/640, ISO 800 Hotel: (From the Street) 12:12pm, f/9, 1/160, ISO 800
These shots were a lot more fun for me to take and edit especially the panoramas. I have attempted to take panoramas before but not like this. I also made a slight HDR effect on the Panorama in the Town. I also did a ghost shot of me and but the HDR on that one as well. The window light on the table was amazing so I thought to put in this shot. I used a macro lens to take the shot of the hotel. Taking the pictures is only half the battle.
Row: (At the Mill) 3:04pm; f/4, 1/15, ISO 800
Old yellow Paint: (Sorting house) 2:41pm; f/4.5, 1/60, ISO 800
Mason Sign: (Mason Temple) 1:44 pm; f/4, 1/200, ISO 800
Young Abe: (Mason Temple) 1:52pm; f/4, 1/30, ISO 800
Brand 3: (Next to the Saloon) 12:25; f/5, 1/60, ISO 800
All these shots had very little editing done to them I really wanted to try to work on my camera skills as we were in Bannack. I worked on composition and Macro in most of these. My personal favorite out of these would have to be the Mason sign. was using a 17-40mm lens when I took that shot. The light wasn't that great from the window plus many people were standing around the windows dimming the room even more. I had a great time shooting these.
